Few clubs in the Bristol area have experienced the ups and downs of Frampton Athletic, who have enjoyed two spells in the Gloucestershire County League during the last 25 years.
The club were launched as a youth team in the South Gloucestershire League in 1946 and provided six members of the representative team during the 1950-51 season, after gaining many divisional and cup honours.
Frampton later joined the Bristol & District League, finishing Division IV champions in 1970, then taking the Division II title two seasons later. They also won the GFA Minor Cup in 1969, the first of many trophy successes.
The first team were elected to the Bristol Premier Combination in 1976. They were crowned Division I champions in the 1978-79 season and moved up to the Premier Division, where runners-up spot in 1983 sealed promotion to the County League.
The Frampton First team have since returned to Division One of the Premier Combination, while the Reserves are in Division Four of the Bristol & District League.
The thrills and spills of the Premier League are back and, to celebrate, we are giving away three volumes of Premier League Classic Matches on DVD!
